Settings
Option | Description |
---|---|
Taxonomy Name |
The only option that can’t be changed. WordPress identify a taxonomy by its name, so changing it may cause various issues. You should use this name for Enhanced media shortcodes (see Configuration: Media Library Settings) like this [gallery media_category="one" ] or [gallery country="germany" ]. There media_category and country are the names of the taxonomies. If you need to use other name in pretty permalinks, just change Rewrite Slug option below. |
Hierarchical |
Defines whether a taxonomy is hierarchical or not. Hierarchical taxonomies can have SUB-categories, and non-hierarchical can not. WordPress built-in post categories is a hierarchical taxonomy, and post tags is not. |

Show in Nav Menu |
Show a taxonomy in Nav Menu (Appearance > Menus ). Makes sense when Taxonomy archive pages option is enabled. |
Remember Terms Order (sort) |
Whether the taxonomy should remember the order in which terms are added or not. If you don’t understand this option just leave it as is. |
Show in REST |
Adds REST API support to the taxonomy. If you don’t understand this option just leave it as is. |
Rewrite Slug |
The slug that will be used as pretty permalink text. By default matches taxonomy name. |
Slug with Front |
Allow permalinks to be prepended with front base (Settings > Permalinks ). |
